Release Date:
2024-08-13
To enhance all employees’ fire safety awareness, strengthen their ability to respond effectively to fire emergencies, and safeguard both employee lives and company property, Ms. Wang Chunyan, Deputy General Manager, and Mr. Cui Tonghan, After-Sales Manager, led all staff in a fire hydrant and fire extinguisher training exercise held in the company workshop on the morning of August 13, 2024.
The purpose of this drill is to verify the performance and operational readiness of the company’s fire-fighting equipment, familiarize employees with the proper use of fire hydrants and fire extinguishers, enhance their firefighting skills, and strengthen their emergency response and evacuation capabilities in the event of a fire. The drill began with a briefing by professional firefighters on fire safety, covering the causes of fires, preventive measures, potential hazards, and escape and self-rescue techniques. An educational fire-safety video was shown, using real-life case studies to underscore the severity of fire-related risks. This was followed by a hands-on exercise on operating fire hydrants, during which firefighters demonstrated the correct procedures for opening a hydrant, connecting the hose, and deploying water. Employees then practiced these steps themselves, ensuring that everyone becomes proficient in the hydrant-use protocol. Next came a fire-extinguisher training session. Professional firefighters provided detailed instruction on the appropriate applications and operating techniques for different types of extinguishers, after which a simulated fire was ignited and employees practiced extinguishing it using the available extinguishers. During the extinguisher exercise, Ms. Wang Chunyan, the company’s Deputy General Manager, took the lead in operating an extinguisher. Her demonstration not only exemplified strong leadership but also reinforced the importance of fire safety among all employees. As a result of this drill, employees’ knowledge of fire safety has significantly improved, and they are now able to accurately answer related questions. With regard to the operation of fire hydrants and fire extinguishers, most employees are now able to follow the correct procedures and demonstrate a marked improvement in their proficiency compared with pre-drill levels. Moving forward, the company will intensify training and practice on hydrant operation to ensure that every employee can connect the hose quickly and correctly. For extinguisher use, we will further strengthen training to emphasize the critical importance of aiming directly at the base of the fire, and increase the frequency of practice sessions.
This fire hydrant and fire extinguisher training exercise achieved its intended objectives, effectively enhancing employees’ fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities. However, it also revealed certain shortcomings. We will carefully review the lessons learned, implement effective corrective measures, and continuously improve the company’s fire safety management to provide robust protection for the company’s stable development.
