Yesterday afternoon, the Fifth Jiangsu International Quartz Industry Conference was held at the Nanjing Airport International Expo Center. With the theme “Pooling Strengths and Empowering through Innovation,” the conference brought together industry leaders to explore pathways for the development of the silicon materials sector. Mr. Sang Haibo, Chairman of Hefei Guxin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., was invited to deliver a keynote address titled “The Wide-Scale Application of Ore Color Sorters in the Silicon Materials Industry and Future Development Trends,” in which he shared technological innovations and industry insights, eliciting a warm response.

In his report, Mr. Sang Haibo pointed out that silicon material, as the core raw material for the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries, has its end-product value directly determined by its purity; however, traditional sorting methods have long been constrained by insufficient accuracy, low efficiency, and severe pollution. Drawing on Gu Xin Technology’s practical experience, he provided a detailed explanation of the breakthrough value of intelligent color sorters: leveraging imported high-speed linear CCDs and AI-powered intelligent systems, these devices can achieve “millimeter-level” detection of minute impurities in silicon ore, with sorting accuracy consistently exceeding 99.9%. Moreover, their processing capacity is more than five times that of conventional sorting methods, while reducing overall costs by over 60%.

To address the challenges of sorting different types of silica, Mr. Sang Haibo provided specific examples of tailored technological solutions: for iron-oxide-bearing quartzite, impurities are precisely separated based on color differences; for vein quartz with varying degrees of translucency, multi-spectral imaging is used in conjunction to classify purity levels, thereby effectively reducing downstream processing costs. In the section on future trends, he emphasized that “AI-driven full-process integration” will become the core direction, further enhancing the recovery rate of low-grade ores and supporting the industry’s green transformation.

Following the presentation, the Hefei Guxin booth became a hub of lively exchanges, with dozens of prospective clients from the silica mining and photovoltaic materials sectors stopping by to seek information. Customers were particularly interested in the equipment’s performance in applications such as impurity removal and purification of high-purity quartz sand, raw ore sorting, and tailings recovery. The Guxin team addressed each inquiry one by one through detailed explanations of technical specifications and case studies. Many customers noted that Guxin’s equipment boasts exceptional precision and broad applicability, perfectly aligning with the silicon materials industry’s core priorities of quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, and expressed their anticipation for in-depth collaboration moving forward.

As a national high-tech enterprise born in the “Global Capital of Color Sorters,” Guxin has obtained more than 50 patents, and its products are exported to numerous countries and regions. Mr. Sang Haibo stated that this conference has established a high-quality platform for technological exchange and collaboration, and that the company will continue to leverage innovative technologies to drive the upgrading of the silicon materials industry.
