China Powder Network: Dear Mr. Sang, hello. Could you please provide a brief overview of Hefei Guxin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.’s development journey and core business in the color-sorting machine sector?
Mr. Sang: Since its establishment in 2010, our company has steadfastly focused on the field of mineral sorting, dedicating itself to the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service of optical color-sorting equipment for ores. To date, we have obtained more than 40 patents with independent intellectual property rights, including invention patents, utility model patents, and software copyrights, covering such areas as optical recognition, mechanical design, and intelligent algorithms. Over the years, we have upheld a spirit of craftsmanship, continuously enhancing the intelligence and automation of our products. Our company has received over 60 awards, notably the National High-Tech Enterprise Award, the Green Crystal Ball Smart Manufacturing Award, the Outstanding Supplier Award in the Powder Industry, and the “Top 10 Service Providers in the Powder Industry” award—honors we have maintained for five consecutive years. Our core business remains centered on the sorting of both metallic and non-metallic minerals, with product applications spanning nearly 100 types of ores and minerals, including quartz, potassium feldspar, fluorite, barite, calcium carbonate, gypsum, kaolin, pebbles, quartz sand, natural sand, manganese ore, tungsten ore, hematite, copper oxide, and many others.
China Powder Network: What unique features does Hefei Guxin’s color sorting machine offer to meet the specific needs of the board sand industry?
Mr. Sang: Our Guxin-brand mineral color-sorting machines have earned widespread recognition from customers both domestically and internationally in the sheet-sand industry thanks to their exceptional precision. Equipped with imported high-precision camera lenses and high-speed, fully intelligent line-scan color CCD technology, coupled with AI-optimized advanced algorithms, these machines can sensitively detect even the tiniest impurities and defects in sheet sand, achieving a color-sorting accuracy of over 99.9% and effectively helping customers enhance product purity. In terms of sorting range, Guxin’s quartz-sand color-sorting equipment covers the separation of sheet sand ranging from 8 to 140 mesh. We offer high-capacity single-layer sand-sorting units, dual-layer chute-type units, and dual-layer free-fall units, ensuring that our solutions meet the diverse purification needs of different customers. Moreover, the same equipment can handle both natural sand and ultra-pure sand, making it highly versatile. Importantly, the machines boast outstanding stability: all core components are sourced from world-class brands, providing strong resistance to interference and ensuring consistent sorting performance regardless of external environmental conditions. The entire system has a service life of up to 20 years, with low maintenance costs, which helps customers minimize the inconvenience of frequent downtime. Operation is remarkably simple—workers can become proficient after just half an hour of training, significantly reducing enterprises’ human-resource training expenses. In short, we deliver on the key attributes of “precision, adaptability, stability, and ease of use,” helping sheet-sand manufacturers thoroughly address the pain points and challenges they face in actual production.
China Powder Network: With the continuous advancement of technology, what new breakthroughs and innovations have been achieved in the R&D of color sorters? How do these innovations better meet the increasingly stringent quality requirements of the wood-based panel sanding industry?
Mr. Sang: With advances in technology, we have developed optical sensors with significantly higher resolution, enabling more precise detection and sorting of even the most elusive impurities commonly found in plate sand—such as micron-sized black, yellow, and gray spots, mica flakes, and “hidden” impurities with only minimal color differences. This ensures that impurities no longer compromise the purity and strength of the finished product. By optimizing the machine’s mechanical design and the performance of its core components, our color-sorting equipment is now far more robust under heavy-duty, continuous production conditions, thereby minimizing downtime and associated production losses—crucial for meeting the plate-sand industry’s demands for high capacity and high efficiency. In addition, our equipment can be customized to address the specific characteristics of each customer’s plate-sand feedstock and their varying purity standards. We have therefore developed a highly flexible, automated parameter-adjustment system that allows the machine to rapidly tailor the sorting process to the customer’s raw-material properties and output requirements—for example, by adjusting the sorting channels to accommodate different particle sizes or by precisely controlling sorting accuracy to meet targeted purity levels. These innovative technologies are designed to fully satisfy the plate-sand industry’s stringent requirements for “high purity, high stability, and high adaptability”: achieving thorough impurity removal while maintaining reliable operation, and offering the flexibility to fine-tune settings according to individual customer needs. In doing so, we help customers ensure superior product quality and enhance the competitiveness of downstream applications.
China Powder Network: What is your outlook on the future development trends of color sorters in the wood-based panel sanding industry?
Mr. Sang: From the perspective of industry practice and technological development, the future trends for color sorters in the board‑sand industry are clear: First, precision requirements are becoming increasingly stringent, as downstream customers demand ever higher raw‑material purity—particularly in the detection and removal of fine and hidden impurities. This calls for continuous breakthroughs in optical technology and AI algorithms to achieve highly accurate sorting. Second, intelligent and automated systems will be deeply integrated, with color sorters playing an even more central role in production lines. Through IoT connectivity, they will enable real-time data monitoring, predictive fault alerts, and even seamless coordination with upstream equipment to automatically adjust process parameters, thereby reducing manual intervention and enhancing efficiency and stability. Third, customized solutions will become a core competitive advantage. Given the wide variability in raw materials and customer needs, equipment must offer greater flexibility and adaptability—tailoring a unique solution for each specific material. At the same time, green energy efficiency and cost reduction will go hand in hand, driving the development of low‑energy‑consumption, easy‑to‑maintain machines that deliver high precision and throughput while helping customers lower operating costs. Looking ahead, the value of color sorters will evolve from being mere sorting tools to becoming pivotal quality‑control devices for finished products, thus supporting the board‑sand industry’s transition toward higher value and greater sophistication.
China Powder Network: What are your plans for the future development of Hefei Guxin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.?
Mr. Sang: The company’s core strategy for future development is centered on three key pillars: “focusing on our core business, deepening innovation, and upgrading our services.” We will continue to refine and strengthen our core business—mineral color sorting—by making sustained R&D investments in niche segments such as plate sand, high-purity quartz, manganese ore, tungsten ore, hematite, and copper oxide. At the same time, we will further enhance our optical systems and AI algorithms to improve the equipment’s ability to detect minute impurities and adapt to complex feed materials with greater precision. We will accelerate our drive toward intelligentization and global expansion: on the one hand, by integrating our equipment with IoT and big data to enable remote monitoring and smart sorting, thereby boosting customers’ production efficiency; on the other hand, by expanding into overseas markets and optimizing our global after-sales service network, so that customers in more countries can benefit from stable, reliable equipment and timely technical support.
