I. Product Applications

Gu Xin’s quartz‑stone‑specific color sorter is engineered for the entire processing chain, from raw ore to high‑purity sand and from dry to wet separation. It serves five key application areas—mining, slab manufacturing, photovoltaic/semiconductor, glass production, and export—and accommodates particle sizes ranging from 16 mesh to 5 cm, with sorting accuracy reaching up to 99.9%.
1. Rough separation of raw ore at the mine (dry separation):
Raw ore lumps (3–8 cm): Remove surrounding rock, mud clods, weathered material, and discolored gangue; separate “3–8 cm lumps” from waste rock to reduce the crushing load.
Medium-sized particles (0.5–3 cm): Remove black spots, yellow patches, iron‑stained particles, interlayer minerals, black inclusions, and mica/feldspar‑bearing mineral aggregates to enhance whiteness and purity.
Graded Pre-Sorting: Separates materials by particle size, directing coarse chunks to crushing and sending fine fractions directly to final screening, thereby optimizing line efficiency.
2. Post-crushing fine sorting (dry/wet dual-use):
Precision impurity removal from block material: After crushing, quartz blocks undergo precise elimination of micron‑scale black spots, iron‑based and titanium‑based impurities, ensuring stable whiteness that meets specifications.
Mineral blending and separation: Separates quartz from feldspar, mica, and hornblende, thereby increasing quartz recovery and reducing the loss of associated minerals.
Wet‑sorting and water‑washing of ore: Suitable for quartz containing moisture after water washing (8 mm–5 cm), removing mud clumps and particles with abnormal coloration without compromising sorting accuracy.
High-purity quartz sand/powder purification (core high-end applications)
Photovoltaic/Semiconductor Grade (4–120 mesh): Multi-stage sorting removes impurities such as Fe, Al, and Ti, achieving a purity of 99.95% or higher, and is suitable for photovoltaic glass, silicon wafer crucibles, and semiconductor quartz products.
Artificial quartz stone slabs: Remove discolored particles to ensure uniform color and consistent veining, while reducing resin usage and lowering costs.
Ultrafine powder pretreatment: protects the mill, prevents hard impurities from wearing down equipment, and ensures the quality of coating‑grade and filler‑grade quartz powder.
3. Recycling of tailings and scrap materials:
Tailings upgrading: A secondary beneficiation process is applied to tailings and wash‑ore waste to recover low‑grade quartz particles, increasing resource utilization by more than 30%.
Material reutilization: Processed scrap and offcuts are centrally color‑sorted; once they meet quality standards, they are returned to the production line, reducing waste and improving overall yield.
4. Finished-product grading and export standards:
Grade Classification: Based on whiteness, purity, and color, products are categorized into glass-grade, ceramic-grade, photovoltaic-grade, and semiconductor-grade, with tiered pricing to enhance premium value.
Customized export sand: Meets stringent SGS/TUV standards, with impurities controlled to ≤0.01%, and tailored to meet the demands of high-end orders in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
