Ms. Wang Chunyan, a director of the company, was elected as a member of the Eighth Committee of the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences in 2020. This marks her fourth invitation to attend the Fourth Plenary Session of the Eighth Committee of the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences and the Provincial Conference on Work of the Federation. The meeting was held in Hefei on February 8. Guo Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, emphasizing the need to comprehensively implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, thoroughly put into practice General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on work in philosophy and the social sciences as well as his series of significant instructions, directives, and remarks concerning Anhui, and, with confidence and self-reliance, uphold fundamental principles while fostering innovation, forge ahead with determination and courage, and propel the province’s work in philosophy and the social sciences to achieve new outstanding results at this new starting point.
Guo Qiang pointed out that the province’s social science community must hold high the great banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, wholeheartedly uphold the “two establishments,” faithfully practice the “two safeguards,” unswervingly shoulder the primary political task, steadfastly fortify the ideological security defense line, and unswervingly advance cultural self-confidence and self-reliance. It is imperative to courageously assume responsibilities and missions, focus on major themes and accurately define research directions, keep the overall development agenda in mind and elevate the standard of research, pool high-quality resources, and produce outstanding works of excellence. We must uphold unity and struggle, strengthen our resolve to strive, bravely shoulder the responsibility of striving, and pool the strength of striving, so as to rally “social science strength” and contribute “social science wisdom” to writing a new chapter in the building of a modern and beautiful Anhui. The meeting heard and approved the work report delivered by Li Bing, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, on behalf of the Presidium of the Eighth Committee. The meeting concluded that in 2022, under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Government and the effective guidance of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences held high the great banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on philosophical and social-scientific work as well as the spirit of his important speeches and instructions during his inspection of Anhui, took the welcoming, study, publicity, and implementation of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as the central thread, and united and led the broad ranks of social science workers across the province in upholding fundamental principles while pursuing innovation, continuously raising standards, focusing on major undertakings, tackling key tasks, overcoming difficult challenges, and delivering practical results. As a result, theoretical armament has become more solid, services to decision-making have grown more effective, public outreach in the social sciences has stood out more prominently, academic achievements have been more abundant, and the foundation of our work has become more robust, giving rise to a vibrant situation in the social science sector characterized by “unity of purpose, high morale, pragmatic style, and excellent outcomes.”
