Maintenance and Upkeep
Filter cartridge replacement
The service life of the filter element varies depending on operating conditions; it is generally replaced once a year.
1. Remove the four slotted hex bolts and take off the outer cover from the main body.
2. Manually rotate the filter element to remove it and replace it.
Replacement of the Cooling Fan Filter Assembly
1. Side panel of the electrical control box
2. The filter assembly shall be cleaned once per month.
3. It can also be cleaned immediately when it gets too dirty.
Winter Precautions
Power on and preheat the equipment 30 minutes in advance, and ensure the operating environment remains above +5°C—this is especially important in northern regions.
(1) In winter, when the weather is cold, all ball valves should be opened slowly to prevent high-velocity air flow from causing ice formation that could freeze and block the pipelines.
(2) At the end of each production shift, thoroughly purge residual gas and moisture from all equipment as required to prevent icing.
(3) To determine whether there is a blockage in the gas supply pipeline, refer to the following methods:
During operation of the color sorter, when the air compressor restarts, check whether the inlet pressure gauge on the side of the color sorter reads the same as the air pressure indicated by the compressor’s pressure gauge. If the color sorter’s pressure reading is lower than that of the compressor, this indicates a blockage in the piping—either a solid blockage or an ice blockage. In such cases, clean the piping and replace the filter elements in all filters.
Precautions for Areas with High Humidity
(1) Due to the high humidity in southern regions, it is recommended that customers install two stages of moisture filters.
(2) Depending on site conditions, users must drain water at least once every four hours; otherwise, water ingress into the equipment will shorten its service life.
(3) Regularly inspect the drainage of all filters in the gas pipeline system (including those inside the equipment), and replace the filter elements on an irregular basis.
(4) Meticulous maintenance ensures the machine operates properly and effectively extends its service life.
Warning: Before cleaning or making any modifications to any part of the machine, first turn off the power using the power switch, then set the main unit’s side-mounted circuit breaker to the OFF position.
Caution: Do not touch the CCD camera lens. Incorrect settings or adjustments can adversely affect color sorting performance.
